In late July 2024, I began working with Kava Java, a newly opened Kava and coffee bar in New Smyrna Beach, FL. At the time, their branding featured a logo with a turtle, coffee beans, and a standard font. Recognizing the need for a cohesive and versatile brand, we started with a branding package to enhance their logo. This ensured its functionality across multiple platforms. We also knew that this project had a lot of potential when it came to their custom website.
Branding Refresh
- Added a subtle sun element to the background for a warm and inviting feel.
- Standardized the font for “Kava Java” to create a polished, professional appearance.
- Created multiple logo variations, including options featuring their tagline and location details, ensuring adaptability for various uses.
Custom WordPress Website
Once we standardized the brand, we moved on to building a completely custom WordPress website tailored to Kava Java’s vision.
The custom website for Kava Java was designed with high-contrast colors, featuring a sleek dark background and vibrant neon highlights that align perfectly with their brand identity and make the site visually striking.
To enhance functionality and user experience, we integrated a user-friendly Google Calendar, allowing the team to easily update weekly events and daily specials directly from their phones. Additionally, the site includes a streamlined contact form and blog integration, enabling effortless updates for new events and announcements.
To further improve accessibility and customer engagement, we created custom QR codes that direct users to key sections of the website, ensuring a seamless and interactive online experience. This modern and fully optimized design sets Kava Java apart in the competitive coffee and kava bar industry.

The website launched in mid-August 2024, and within months, Kava Java’s search engine ranking improved dramatically. Starting at 9th or 10th position for the keyword “Kava Java,” they rose to 2nd and 1st positions, significantly increasing their online visibility.
Future Plans
With plans for growth, Kava Java is poised for further success: E-commerce Integration: Once their credit card processor is finalized, we will build an online store to enable customers to pre-order drinks for pickup. This feature will introduce an additional revenue stream and improve customer convenience.
